Spiritual Guidance
The Kalachakra Stupa in Karma Berchen Ling will be built and inaugurated under the spiritual guidance of Lama Chogdrup Dorje and Lama Ole Nydahl.
The Kalachakra Stupa belongs to the Diamondway Buddhist Centres of the Karma Kagyu Lineage and is dedicated to the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje.
Lama Chogdrup Dorje
Lama Chogdrup Dorje is one of the most experienced Lamas concerning Kalachakra Stupas and has done long meditation retreats on this Buddha aspect. He received the Kalachakra transmission from Bokar Rinpoche who had received it directly from Kalu Rinpoche.
Lama Chogdrup Dorje was frequently recommended by Shamar Rinpoche and Hannah Nydahl. He is the nephew of Lama Tangsang, who was sent to teach in France by the 16th Karmapa. You can see pictures of his first visit to KBL on the Blog.
Lama Ole Nydahl
In 1969, Ole Nydahl and his wife Hannah met the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, the first incarnate lama of Tibet. Since then, the teachings of Diamond Way Buddhism have gradually found their way to the West.
His Holiness asked them to teach, establish meditation centres and ensure that the teachings would remain alive and attractive to intelligent, critical lay people in the Western world. (Website of Lama Ole Nydahl)
